Aernnova acquires SIE (Structural Integrity Engineering)
Vitoria-Gasteiz (Alava), Spain – Aernnova has recently completed the acquisition of Structural Integrity Engineering (SIE), an aircraft engineering company headquartered in Chatsworth (California) with regional offices in Seattle (Washington) and Madrid (Spain).
With this acquisition, Aernnova reinforces its growth strategy in North America and adds engineering and certification expertise that complements its aeronautical engineering division and DOA services.

SIE was formed in 1981 to provide design engineering, analysis, certification, and program management services to the aviation industry. SIE’s experience has been broad, including aircraft structures, mechanical systems, electrical systems, aircraft interiors, program management for major aircraft modifications, and development of a wide range of Supplemental Type Certificates.
Some of the projects developed by SIE over the past 37 years include STCs to convert passenger airplanes into freighters (B757, A320, etc.…), modifications and pylons for flying engine test bed aircraft, the ORBIS Flying Eye Hospital, satcom antenna (Ku-Band/Ka-Band) installations, and engineering analysis for structural life extensions. SIE has worked with numerous large and small aerospace customers including OEMS (GE Aviation, Goodrich, Gulfstream, Honeywell, Pratt & Whitney, Safran, etc.), airplane operators (Air China, Aerojet, Cargojet, FedEx, Frontier, Jet Blue, Norwegian, Southwest, United, Icelandair, …) and government agencies (FAA, EASA, CAAC, NASA, JPL, USAF, US Navy, …). SIE has also developed its own STCs for licensing to others.
