Design and manufacture of sections 50, 60 and 70 of the Airbus BelugaXL
D&B of large low-cadence structures
The Airbus BelugaXL program was launched in November 2014 to support Airbus’ internal transport needs, mainly due to the ramp up of the A350 XWB and other programs.
Aernnova assumed in this program the design and manufacture of sections 50, 60 and 70 of the rear fuselage.
From the beginning this program has been a challenge for the very characteristics of the program, focused on the development of large low-cadence structures.
Together with this, manufacturing of fuselage panels up to 8 meters using “Peen Forming” technology, optimization of the aerodynamics and the horizontal stability of the aircraft as well as the automation of certain assembly operations as the most efficient solution, have also been addressed.
This program, with all structures corresponding to the first plane delivered, it has been a great success of the whole of the company, meeting all the requirements in time & quality with full customer satisfaction.
