WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU
Working as part of the Procurement team to source goods and services required by the business in accordance with company procedures, on time and to the required quality and cost requirements.
- Review, confirm availability and process Purchase Requisitions to meet the business requirements.
- Liaise other internal departments to drive through any quality, delivery, cost or planning requirements to meet the business production requirements.
- Manage the end to end Orderbook Process with allocated suppliers.
- Manage Internal and External Stakeholder relationships.
- Keep MRP up to date with supplier updates.
- Signals flaws in approaches, methods, procedures and processes and suggests improvements.
- Proactively escalate issues that will cause a late to MRP and concerns through the Daily Procurement meetings or as otherwise appropriate.
- Attend Shop floor daily meetings to update the business.
- Contributes to projects and supports team objectives as a team member.
- Update pricing and or delivery date information in the procurement system when approved by a Line Manager or Commodity Manager.
- Lead Monthly Operational Reviews (MORs) with a range of suppliers to ensure products are being delivered on time and to drive actions to resolve any queries associated with Price, Lead Time, Quality or Quantity.
- Providing feedback to internal stakeholders on the progress of their requirements as and when required.
- Understand & implement strategies for assigned commodities and proactively drive initiatives to meet Procurement objectives.
- Identify and qualify new suppliers for Ad-hoc requirements.
- Assess supplier capabilities/capacity and make recommendations on supplier acceptability.
- Drive productivity opportunities with supply base to deliver cost out goals.
- Carry out payment tracking and invoice analysis for assigned suppliers and escalate any issues within HAL.
- Look upstream for pending requirements and drive Engineering, Manufacturing, and Sales in order to ensure Procurement given adequate time to procure material in time.
- Rotate to other Suppliers/Commodities within the Procurement team as and when required.
REQUIREMENTS
Essential
- A business-related qualification or relevant applicable experience.
- Experience with utilising and creating effective MS Excel spreadsheets; working capability with MSWord, Outlook & PowerPoint.
- Relevant Procurement Experience.
- Time management, scheduling and prioritisation skills.
- Competent in reviewing technical data, including drawings and material specifications.
- Enthusiastic, adaptable & motivated team player with excellent communication & organisational skills. Able to develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to professionally manage multiple priorities with tight deadlines & under minimal supervision.
- Experience in working with financial / ERP / MRP systems.
- Quantitative and analytical skills - able to review, analyse and present large amounts of data.
- Time management, scheduling and prioritisation skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Aptitude to bring assignments and projects to a successful completion.
Desirable
- Experience in sourcing Metallic raw material to Aerospace standards and specifications/sheet metal fabrication or Machining supply chain/industry.
- CIPS Qualifications.
